Name: Jaime Cronk
School: Bower Grove
Position Held: Outreach Teacher/Class teacher
SLE Specialism: Behaviour/SEN
What are your current responsibilities?
I teach in two different KS2 classes at Bower Grove, a special school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. I work with the Maidstone Specialist Teaching and Learning Service supporting Primary and Secondary schools with specific pupils, helping teachers to develop their skills and practices. I am also part of the district’s team delivering training for many aspects of SEN including ASD, Attachment, Social Stories and Lego Therapy.
Why have you chosen to become an SLE?
I am very fortunate to already regularly meet with some excellent teachers in Mainstream schools who are enthusiastic and passionate about supporting their pupils with SEN. I look forward to continuing working with school leaders, SENCOs, Teachers and TAs.
What are your areas of expertise? How might you be able to help the schools?
I have worked in Bower Grove for almost 13 years supporting many pupils with behaviour and learning. I therefore have good experience and knowledge of supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. I also have a good knowledge and understanding of ASD and can support others to develop their practice when supporting such students.
