What are your current responsibilities?
Provide strategic leadership and management of the Business Management of the Malling Holmesdale Federation ensuring best value and optimum effectiveness
Strategic management of the Federations finances and all aspects of site, personnel and contract management
Why have you chosen to become an SLE?
Essentially, I believe that sound business management structures can be the foundation on which outstanding schools are built. I am keen to share good practice with other schools and colleagues to help and support each other achieve excellence.
What are your areas of expertise? How might you be able to help the schools?
I am passionate about the work that I do and doing it well has always been important to me. In order to be as effective as I can, I have taken qualifications that have enabled me to have a deeper understanding of business management. I completed a 3 year accounts course and more recently, I have achieved a Certificate in School Business Management.
I have over 15 years finance experience which includes working for the Local Authority supporting primary and secondary schools around the County. I am currently the Business Manager for two secondary schools and am responsible for budgets in excess of £ 9 million.
I am currently involved in outreach work with local primary schools and enjoy sharing good practice and working with others towards school improvement.
