Why have you chosen to become an SLE?

I believe that the greatest improvements in teaching and learning, and ultimately student achievement, are made when professionals share their experiences and expertise. I have seventeen years of experience as a Science Teacher first and foremost, and I have a long history of mentoring colleagues at all stages of their career. I have played an active role in whole school CPD programmes, which has led to measureable improvements in teaching and learning. Having the role of SLE will enable me to share my experience and learn from other professionals in a range of different schools.  In short, I feel that a collaborative approach is the way forward to make sustained improvements in education.
